Board Chair View Bio ![]() Tom lives in Troy, Ohio with his wife Cheryl. They have three adult children and 7 grandchildren. Tom is a 1965 graduate of Van Wert High School, a 1969 graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, and he received his MBA in finance from Xavier University in 1973. Tom worked at Armco Steel (now known as AK Steel), a leading integrated steel producer, from 1969 to 1990, serving as the Vice President of Operations in the latter two years. In 1990, Tom was named President and CEO of International Mill Service, a provider of specialized technical and operating services to steel mills. In 1994, he was named President and CEO of Precision Strip Inc. Precision Strip is a processor of flat rolled steel and aluminum with 11 plants in the eastern United States. It is the largest metal processor in the United States. Tom stepped down as President, becoming Chairman in 2007 and retired at the end of 2012. Over the last several years Tom has served on the Board of Directors for Minster Financial Corp.; Dayton Art Institute; Ohio Northern University; and, of course, Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices. |

Board Secretary View Bio ![]() The Rev. Cyndy Garn is a United Methodist Clergyperson in the West Ohio Conference and currently serves at the Worthington United Methodist Church. Rev. Garn grew up in a EUB congregation that related strongly to Otterbein Homes. She served both Lebanon United Methodist Church and Middletown Faith United Methodist Church, where she had parishioners who grew up at Otterbein as children and then returned to live in their later years.

![]() Rev. Brian Brown
View Bio ![]() Brian grew up in Fort Washington, Maryland and attended Grace United Methodist Church. At an early age he accepted Christ and knew God was calling him into ministry. He has a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a Master’s in Divinity from Virginia Union University and the Samuel DeWitt School of Theology, respectively. Prior to entering full time ministry, Rev. Brown served as a Project and Account Manager for two Hazardous Waste firms and taught High School Chemistry, Earth Science, and Algebra. Rev. Brown was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church in 2000. He has served on a variety of boards and agencies in the Virginia Conference and as the Assistant Secretary to the Virginia Annual Conference. Rev. Brown served as the President of B.M.C.R. (Black Methodists for Church Renewal). Rev. Brown served as Associate Pastor of Belmont United Methodist Church from 1999 to 2002. During that time Belmont was engaged in a ministry of racial reconciliation and sought to reach out to its neighborhood as the demographics had changed. During Rev. Brown’s tenure Belmont’s diversity increased from 1% African American to 20%. He went on to become the senior pastor of Asbury United Methodist Church in Richmond, Virginia, and later the Woodlawn United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia. Rev. Brown became the teaching pastor of Ginghamsburg Church in Ohio in 2008. In 2011, Rev. Brown designed the ‘Bridge Builders Ministry’ aimed at creating bridges for new guests to feel welcomed and engage in ministry. It also includes empowering lay pastors to help ‘close the back door’ in following up on and reengaging members who have not attended worship for four weeks. Rev. Brown has also been active in mission trips having led teams to Haiti, Colombia, and Slidell, New Orleans. Rev. Brown became the District Superintendent of the Ohio River Valley in mid-2011. He is married to the former Candace Robinson. They have four children Brian II, Brianna, Brielle, and Bria. In his spare time, Rev. Brown enjoys, jogging, reading, and spending quality time with his family.

Brown received a BA in Political Science from Wright State University in 1978, a MBA from Wright State University in 1982, and a Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in 1986. She was ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church, West Ohio Conference in 1988. In the last 29 years, Rev. Brown has served the Englewood United Methodist Church; the Fairview United Methodist Church; as Director of Church and Community Ministries, Miami Valley United Methodist Mission Society, Dayton North and Dayton South Districts; as Senior Pastor, Grace United Methodist Church and presently serves as the District Superintendent, Maumee Watershed District. Rev. Brown is married to Leonard (Len) V. Brown, has six children (Tami, Stephen, David, Matthew, Alisha and Phillip), and seven grandchildren (Robert, Hannah, Haley, Braden, Jenna, Evan and Tate).

View Bio ![]() Bill Brownson is CFO and Director of Administration for the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church. Brownson received a B.S. at The Ohio State University and an MBA from Ohio State’s Fisher College. His career includes 20 years in banking and financial services where he held a variety of positions including responsibility for growing JPMorgan’s philanthropic advisory practice and foundation and endowment assets under management. Through his consulting firm, WHB Consulting, LLC, Bill has advised and worked on behalf of educational and child welfare organizations. Brownson’s involvement in the United Methodist Church includes chairing his local church’s finance, stewardship and development committees over the years and serving as co-church lay-leader. At the conference level, he has chaired the Council on Finance and Administration and served on the Council on Development and Board of Pensions and Health Benefits. |

View Bio ![]() Rev. George O. Campbell is a retired, ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and a member of the West Ohio Conference. Rev. Campbell has served churches throughout Ohio as elder and later as a district superintendent. He is a graduate of Ohio Northern University, and the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He has studied for his doctorate in spiritual formation at the Ecumenical Theological School in Detroit, Michigan. He has served on district and conference leadership teams for more than 45 years.

Leroy Chambliss’ educational background includes a B.S. degree from the University of Dayton, an MBA from Pepperdine University, and a Masters of Divinity from the United Theological Seminary. Rev. Chambliss life experience included 20 years as a project engineer, product manager, director of planning and sales and marketing specialist in the telecommunication industry with AT&T, Rockwell, Flour-Daniel, Ericsson, and Nortel; nine years as a marketing and sales consultant to test equipment manufacturers; and 10 years as clergy serving churches in West Ohio Conference UMC.

He has been very active in organized dentistry, including in the Cincinnati Dental Society, the Ohio Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Roger, and his wife Georgie, live in Lebanon.

View Bio ![]() Jim’s earliest memories are from the parsonage adjacent to the Methodist church in Englewood, Ohio. He grew up actively involved in the churches his father served throughout Ohio and met his wife at the church in Middletown. Jim joined the Ohio Air National Guard to pay his way through college, later committing to active duty fulfilling a service to our country. After leaving the Air Force, Jim continued his career in the high-tech industry as a consultant and implementer of computer systems and networks. He has served in a variety of roles in distinguished organizations including the United States Air Force, Booz Allen & Hamilton and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. More recently, Jim managed divisions of global software companies developing enterprise solutions for a variety of industries. On a personal note, Jim and his wife have two children that are the focus of their lives and recently became grandparents, opening a new chapter. Exploring many of the National parks and the Holy Lands with his parents instilled a love of travel and Jim and his wife have worked to pass this desire on to their children. Jim spends his free time traveling, scuba diving, cycling and hiking, and most recently climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

View Bio ![]() Dr. James W. Fenton, Jr. is a Professor of Management and the Dean of the James F. Dicke College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern University. He is a graduate of the University of Toledo’s College of Business Administration where he received his BBA and MBA degrees. He also earned a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a second area in Law from the University of Iowa. Dr. Fenton has over 15 years of academic experience. He has been recognized as an outstanding teacher and scholar, having published in peer-reviewed publications including Business Horizons, Employment & Labor Law Quarterly, Healthcare Management Review, Journal of Small Business Management, and Labor Law Journal. In addition to his academic experience, fully one-half of his career has been as an entrepreneur. He has owned and operated four manufacturing companies, the largest with annual revenues of $25 million employing 125 employees.

View Bio ![]() An independent practitioner for 30 years, Dr. Glaser is well known for his leadership on behalf of the profession of audiology. Dr. Glaser is the owner of Audiology Associates of Dayton, Inc. and the Auris Group, a practice management consulting firm serving varied health care practitioners and the hearing care industry. Dr. Glaser received his B.S. in speech pathology and audiology in 1969 from Bowling Green State University, his M.A. in audiology from Kent State University in 1971 and Ph.D. in audiology from Kent State University in 1974.

He and his wife, Mary Ellen, a retired teacher, have two sons, Christopher and Kevin. He has attended Hillsboro First United Methodist Church for 40 years, where he is a lay leader. After graduating from Peebles High School City, he received a bachelor’s of science degree in engineering from Ohio University in Athens.

A member of the West Ohio Conference, Tom has served United Methodist churches for over 39 years. He holds the Bachelor’s Degree from Taylor University and a Master’s Degree in Divinity and a Doctor’s Degree in Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton. Tom and his wife Cathy have three adult children and five grandchildren.

View Bio ![]() Pamela Nickell’s rather unique career in education has allowed her to work with all age levels of students and families from birth through college as teacher, special education director, counselor, principal, superintendent, curriculum and federal programs director and college department of education administration. Her husband of 48 years and their three children have given their support throughout that time. Since her retirement in 2011, she has more time to concentrate on grandchildren, her mother, and their church, Hillsboro First United Methodist.

View Bio ![]() Zanana (Zan) Petrie is retired educator and married to John, a retired United Methodist Clergy. They reside in Canal Winchester, Ohio and have two adult children, 4 grandchildren and 4-great-grandchildren. Zan served on the Board of Trustees from January 1994 to April, 1998 and was re-elected in May, 2010. She served on North Board of Directors from 1999-2000 and has served on the Corporate Board Organization & Function Committee for 12 years. Zan is active in her Church Choir, a substitute pianist, on the Worship Committee, a greeter and Bible Study Leader. Zan is a 1954 Graduate of Berne French High School in Berne, Indiana and 1958 graduate of Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, IL with a BS in Music Education, as well as received additional credits from University of Cincinnati, Illinois, Ohio State and Bowling Green Universities. She was a music teacher from 1958-1989 for grades K-12 and a private tutor/Japanese. Zan taught Music Education at Southern State College from 2003-2005 and has also been a private piano teacher. She is involved in the local Women’s Club, served as President of Esoteric Organization, Organizer/leader of Unite Nations Seminar in New York for 5 years and West Ohio Conference officer for United Methodist Women for Mission Education. Zan enjoys church, gardening, reading, travel and paint “dabbling”.

View Bio ![]() Dr. Sehi is the founding executive dean of Sinclair Community College Courseview Campus in Mason. He served as the executive and previously was the chair of mechanical engineering technology, and dean of the science, mathematics and engineering division since 1986. Dr. Sehi was instrumental in growing the campus from 345 students in 2007 to 1,300 in 2012 and in establishing partnerships with Miami University, Wright State University, University of Dayton, University of Cincinnati and Wilmington College, all of which may now offer upper division and graduate level courses and programs at Sinclair’s Courseview campus. Overall, Dr. Shei has served the educational community in southwestern Ohio for over 28 years. Dr. Sehi holds a B.S. in civil engineering, M.S. in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. in academic administration from Southern Illinois University. He also is a graduate of the Harvard Leadership and Management in Education Institute, Graduate School of Education. Dr. Sehi and his two daughters, Alexandra and Gabrielle, have lived in the Cincinnati area since 1987.

View Bio ![]() Joe Wolf is a native of Minster, OH, a 1980 graduate of The Ohio State University and currently resides in Fort Loramie with his wife of 31 years, Sandy. Joe and Sandy have three grown children. Joe began his career in 1980 as an engineer with Armco Steel in Middletown, OH. He accepted an offer to move back to his hometown area with Precision Strip in 1985. In his 27 years at Precision Strip, Mr. Wolf has been active in the growth and success of the company from a one-plant operation and 50 employees in 1985 to its current size of 11 facilities operating in six states with more than 1,000 employees. Joe has held positions as Director of Engineering, General Manager, Vice President of Operations, and has been President of Precision Strip since 2007.

David Woodyard grew up in the Columbus area and graduated from Westerville High School, Otterbein College, United Seminary in Dayton, and then was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church. He served four Ohio congregations before retiring in 2003. He lost his wife of 37 years in 2007 and his son, Toby, in 1994. His daughter lives in Issaquah, Washington with her husband and Rev. Woodyard’s two grandsons.

View Bio ![]() Dr. Joe Frederick spent 41 years in 11 different positions working in the area of developmental disabilities, and 10 years teaching part time at Bowling Green State University in the special education department. Dr. Frederick has been fortunate to have published several articles on mental retardation in state and national journals. In 1973, he co-authored a book on mental retardation, and is presently finishing two books titled “People + Me” and “God Keeps on Giving.” He and his wife, Kathy, have two sons, Joe II and Mark. Joe II and his wife Tara have blessed Joe and Kathy with two grandsons, Zachary and Joshua.
