Hospice care will soon be an Otterbein ministry.

We have an emotional bond with our Otterbein residents. We’d like it to remain unbroken. That’s why we’re developing a hospice care ministry. Should any of our Otterbein family decide not to pursue aggressive medical care at the end of life, we want to be their hospice care givers. Sending them somewhere else at the most important spiritual phase of life doesn’t sit well with us. Their life is here. We want to be with them at the end of it.

We plan to be physically, emotionally and spiritually present to our elders and their loved ones. Our hospice nurses will be responsive, sharing care options, and ensuring comfort. Our chaplains will be there with loving guidance. And our elders will be at home, in every sense of the word.
