Otterbein Gahanna
Care That Feels Like Family
About Gahanna SeniorLife Neighborhood
At Otterbein Gahanna we’ve reimagined what a nursing home looks like. Residents, whom we call elders, live in one of five small houses, each with private suites, shared living areas, and family-style meals. This intimate, real-home setting ensures each elder receives personalized care and attention at every level.
Our small house model — “Small House … Big Difference” — fosters close relationships, meaningful moments, and joyful living. It’s a refreshing alternative to traditional rehab, long-term care, and memory support communities in Ohio. The Gahanna SeniorLife Neighborhood is more than just a place for care — it’s an innovative approach emphasizing personal choice and individualized support.
What We Offer
Care Choices at Otterbein Gahanna
Elders at Otterbein Gahanna have access to care from a dedicated team of licensed nurses, nursing assistants (referred to as Elder Assistants), and therapists. Elders may be living here on a permanent basis or temporarily for rehabilitation after an injury or illness. Either way, they’re treated as part of the Otterbein family.
Additionally, Otterbein Home Health delivers personalized in-home care and support for seniors transitioning from our small house residences back to their own homes. Learn more about how we can support your transition and ongoing care needs.

A Green House Project ®
Why Choose a Small House?
Developed in partnership with the Green House Project®, this revolutionary model creates a real-home environment where residents don’t just live — they thrive. You can feel the small house difference the moment you walk through the door. With a higher caregiver-to-elder ratio, residents are supported by consistent nursing partners (employees) around the clock, along with expert physical, speech, and occupational therapy services. Life at Otterbein Gahanna doesn’t feel like others — it feels like home.
