From Hospital to Recovery
Evelyn suffered a massive stroke in February 2025 that impacted every facet of her life. She spent seven days in the hospital, six weeks in a nursing facility, and one month of targeted therapy at the Rehabilitation Institute of Ohio before moving to the Marigold House at Otterbein Tipp City to continue her recovery journey.
After just six months at the Marigold House, Evelyn’s recovery continues to progress. In fact, Evelyn’s progress has been so substantial that she is ready to regain her independence by moving into an independent living patio home later this fall.
When asked about her journey, Evelyn said, “I credit my recovery to my family and friends, the prayers of my church family, the neurosurgeons at the Kettering Brain and Spine Institute of Ohio, and the patience and encouragement of the amazing staff at the Marigold House.”
As a testament to her exuberant spirit and optimistic mindset, Evelyn recently participated in a Bold Adventure at Otterbein Tipp City and enjoyed a tethered hot air balloon ride. Evelyn embodies an ageless sense of adventure. The sky’s the limit for this fiercely determined lady!
