“What excites me the most about the future of Otterbein Tipp City is just the potential that this community and campus have,” said Kendra Couch, assistant vice president, SW communities. “It’s a beautiful community with wonderful residents and partners, and I think we just have a wide range of directions we can go for this to be the best place for all who live here and work here.”
Jason Miller, senior vice president of operations at Otterbein SeniorLife, joined in on the festivities and shared his remarks at the dedication ceremony.
“When I talk to the residents here, they talk about family. They talk about all these events, and how we connect our Otterbein Tipp City residents with all other residents in the state,” said Jason.
Jill Wilson, president & CEO of Otterbein SeniorLife, agreed and provided her perspective and hope for the future of the new partnership.
“This is just the beginning of what’s going to be an incredible community that’s going to expand beyond all of our expectations in all the ways that we dream of and want to have,” said Wilson.
Otterbein Tipp City Executive Director Pepper Pegg expressed her excitement for what lies ahead and her appreciation for how the residents have embraced her within the community.
“At Otterbein, I love how innovative, forward-thinking, and resident-driven they are. They treat their partners (employees) well, and it shows,” said Pepper. “What excites me about the future of Otterbein is its potential to grow and expand the campus.
“My favorite thing about the Otterbein Tipp City campus is the residents. They’re always very welcoming, always willing to stop and say ‘hi.’”

“I’ve heard wonderful things about Otterbein, and I thought, this has got to be great because they know what they’re doing,” said Ruth W., an Otterbein Tipp City resident. “I think it’ll be great because they’re going to add so many things. That assisted living is going to be very important because we need the next step between there and the nursing care services.”
“All the people that I have come into contact with that are a part of Otterbein SeniorLife have just been perfect,” said Charles S. “They have our best interests in mind. They have our happiness in mind, and they just take care of us.”
Residents find friendship and new opportunities at the campus — and also appreciate the welcoming and engaging culture that provides a sense of belonging and purpose.
“The community is really nice, and it’s peaceful and quiet. It’s also a good opportunity to make new friends and reach out and experience new things, go new places, and just build a retirement life in a positive way,” said resident Becky J.
“I heard the word community and looked at the brochures and talked to people, but I never realized what an effort that the staff has put in to try to create the community experience,” said Terry G., an Otterbein Tipp City resident.
“It’s very community-oriented, and the staff and the residents are very friendly and very welcoming,” said Madeline B.
