Opened in 2002, The Woodlands is our independent living community, which offers both one- and two-bedroom apartments. The Woodlands shares its campus with Otterbein Sunset House, which offers assisted living, long-term care, rehabilitation services, and more.
At The Woodlands, each upscale apartment includes:

Otterbein Sunset House has been part of the Toledo area for more than 150 years. Founded in 1871 as the “Home for Friendless Women,” Otterbein Sunset House mainly served women in the Toledo area and later became a nursing center. In the early 2000s, the community began to admit men and couples and added independent living housing, which is now called The Woodlands.
In 2020, the community became affiliated with Otterbein SeniorLife and officially became known as Otterbein Sunset House.
