Comfortable and Affordable Options at Otterbein SeniorLife St. Marys

Posted on: April 21, 2022

If you or a loved one are considering senior living, you’ve certainly asked the question “Can I afford this?” In fact, it’s probably one of the very first questions that comes to mind as you begin the process of researching affordable senior living options.

Otterbein St. Marys resident Sally E. asked herself this same question when her daughter first got her thinking about senior living. Thanks to Otterbein SeniorLife’s personalized approach and guidance, Sally was able to find a waterfront patio home that worked well for her and her budget. Watch the video below to learn how she did it.

There is No ‘One Size Fits All’

From the moment someone expresses interest in Otterbein, our administrators always take a personalized approach.

“When we start this process with folks, we really like to come up with something customized that fits their needs and also their likes,” said Stacy Klosterman, Director of Marketing at Otterbein St. Marys. “We talk with them and spend some time finding a price point that is comfortable for them and finding a floor plan that is comfortable for them.”

There’s no pressuring you into something that’s not right for you, no pushing you into making a commitment you’re not ready for. It’s all tailored to you with your priorities top of mind.

No Down Payment Required

Klosterman also debunks the common stereotype that admission to an Otterbein SeniorLife community requires a large lump sum. While that is an option for those who desire to do so, it is by no means a requirement to move into Otterbein.

“People think when they come to a senior living community, they have to sign over their assets to us or they have to write that check for that large sum of money to come live here,” she said. “You don’t have to do that. If you just want to come and pay your rent every month, you can do that.”

A Dream Come True

In Sally’s case, moving into Otterbein has enriched her life more than she thought possible. She loves maintenance-free living, being involved in community activities, and visiting with friends and family that live close by.

“I have time to enjoy all the things that I’m still able to, and it was sort of a dream come true because I thought I was never going to be able to afford to come here. It was just such a blessing,” she says about her move to Otterbein St. Marys.
