Ready to step back in time to the late 19th century when general stores were the place to be? Head on over to Beeker’s General Store for a few groceries and some gossip (well, maybe not that last part). Snook’s Dream Cars

Travel in the “past lane” to Snook’s Dream Cars, an extensive 1930s-70s car collection housed in a recreated 1940s-era Texaco gas station and showroom. Bill Snook and his son Jeff sparked their love for cars when, in 1963, they restored a 1929 Model A Ford for Jeff to drive at age 16. The two have been collecting cars and automotive memorabilia ever since.

Since Bill passed away, Jeff has operated the living museum in his memory. The car collection includes coupes, convertibles, sedans, roadsters, and race cars of various makes and models. You can also find a memorabilia collection of toy and model cars, die-cast banks, signs, oil cans, pedal cars, a kiddie ride, and so much more.

Wintergarden

Immerse yourself in the wonders of over 120 acres of nature at Wintergarden/St. John’s Nature Preserve in Bowling Green. Enjoy miles of hiking and walking trails with loop options that wind through forests and prairie meadows.

Wood County Museum

The Wood County Infirmary, also known as the County Home, opened in 1868 and closed in 1971 when a new health care center opened nearby. The Wood County Museum debuted in the old infirmary’s place in 1975.
Visitors are welcome to walk the 50-acre museum grounds, enjoying the Lyle Fletcher Arboretum, Adam Phillips Park, Archery Range, and walking trails. Your Wood County Museum experience also includes a self-guided tour of the original Infirmary, with a special focus on the Paupers’ Cemetery, Lunatic Asylum, Pestilence House, and Ice House.

Additionally, you can view the revolving exhibits that connect the past with the present times. The museum is accessible, offering an elevator, accessible restrooms, and ample parking in the visitor lot. Limited wheelchairs are also available for use on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Little Red Schoolhouse
Bowling Green State University Campus
The Little Red Schoolhouse was originally built in Huron County, Ohio, in 1875 and closed its doors in 1938. The building that once housed eight grades of students was later moved to the Bowling Green State University campus, allowing visitors the chance to step back in time to experience the Little Red Schoolhouse as it once was.
The schoolhouse, which features items representing the educational system from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, is open to visitors on weekends from 2 to 5 p.m.
