When you’re looking at floor plans and pricing for your retirement needs, it’s easy to get lost in the numbers of square footage and monthly rent. But what you really need to evaluate in choosing a home or apartment is the lifestyle you’re looking for and what kind of space will satisfy those needs.
That’s why we’ve broken down the most common space options at our Otterbein SeniorLife communities along with which lifestyles go best with each.
Note: Floor plans and availability vary by community. For exact floor plan specifications, check out options for the specific community you’re considering.
Studio Model
A studio home or apartment is one in which the living space and bedroom are combined. It’s a great cost-effective option for those who don’t need a lot of space for entertaining or who simply gravitate toward minimalism or having fewer belongings.
The studio model is an ideal choice for you if:
- You’re an individual
- You don’t plan on having a lot of overnight guests
- You don’t plan on doing a lot of entertaining in your home or apartment (parties, etc.)
- You’re happy with fewer belongings and minimal upkeep
- You’re looking for a cost-effective option
- You plan on traveling or being away frequently
One-Bedroom Model
A one-bedroom home or apartment is a great option for those who want a bit more privacy and a moderate amount of space. Not too big and not too small, the one-bedroom offers a lot of bang for your buck, as well.
The one-bedroom is an ideal choice for you if:
- You’re an individual or couple
- You want a separate living space
- You want some additional privacy
- You don’t plan on having a lot of overnight guests
- You’re looking for a moderate-cost option
One-Bedroom With Bonus Room (Select Communities)
Some one-bedroom homes or apartments at Otterbein come with a “bonus” room, such as a four-seasons patio or sunroom. These models offer all the same benefits as a standard one-bedroom, plus a little extra space. It’s a great in-between option if you don’t quite need a two-bedroom, but would still like a bit more living space.
Two-Bedroom Model
The two-bedroom model provides ample space for guests, entertaining, hobbies, or whatever else you have in mind. The second bedroom could be used as a guest room for overnight visitors as well.
The two-bedroom model is an ideal choice for you if:
- You’re an individual or couple
- You want additional space for entertaining or hobbies
- You plan on having overnight guests occasionally
- You want a separate office or study
- You would like more than one full bathroom
Three-Bedroom Model (Select Communities)
Several of our communities offer a three-bedroom option for those who need a lot of extra living space for guests, entertaining, hobbies, etc. The three-bedroom also offers two bathrooms and dining space that is separate from the kitchen and living area.
