What is Hospice Care?

Hospice is a philosophy of care for those facing life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and caregivers. The focus of hospice care is to help patients experience peace, comfort, and quality of life while also offering support and services to their family and caregivers.

At Otterbein Hospice, our dedicated and compassionate team is here to help you through all stages of life’s journey. When the time comes for hospice care, our team will involve you and your loved ones in your care options, and together with you, develop a personalized plan of care. Our team includes nurses, a chaplain and social worker for your care and support. We offer the peace that comes with being cared for in your home.

Hospice is a Journey Together

When a loved one is experiencing a life-limiting illness, it becomes the family’s journey, too. Hospice care is not just for the patient who is in a difficult stage of life’s journey. With Otterbein Hospice, the family’s journey is also very important. Our ministry helps families cope with the natural grief and distress of pending life events.

Otterbein Hospice provides professional, personalized, and holistic medical care to ensure physical, emotional, and spiritual comfort to you and your loved ones. This is achieved by relieving symptoms, such as pain and other stressors of illness, by working closely with your physician to develop a personalized plan of care.

Otterbein Hospice wants to be there for you during the journey, whether you are the patient, caregiver, or family.
